More than 640 transfer students have reserved places at SUNY Oswego for fall 2015, among them Daniel Ryans of Woodside. He last studied at Dutchess Community College, and plans to major in broadcasting and mass communication at Oswego.
Classes began Aug. 24.
The following students were named to the spring 2015 dean’s list at SUNY Buffalo State.
Vanessa Javier, majoring in writing, from East Elmhurst; Erick Perez, majoring in media production, from Ridgewood; Mike Palaguachi, majoring in psychology, from Corona
To qualify, students must earn a GPA of 3.5 or higher and complete a minimum of 12 credit hours.
Akash Mitra of Astoria graduated from Le Moyne College with a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems and also made the 2015 Spring Semester Dean’s List
Runelvi De La Rosa of Long Island City, a SUNY Osewgo senior majoring in wellness management, interned at SUNY Oswego Metro Center in Syracuse this summer.
Wheaton College student Daniel Bennett of Long Island City, was named to the Dean’s List for the spring 2015 semester.
To earn Dean’s List honors at Wheaton, an undergraduate student must carry 12 or more credit hours and achieve a 3.5 grade point average or higher on the 4.0 scale.
Nearly 250 SUNY Potsdam students completed internship placements at companies, non-profits or campus departments in Spring 2015.
Last semester’s successful student interns included:
Emma Lobenhofer from Astoria, who interned with the SUNY Potsdam Department of English and Communication in Potsdam, NY
Anthony Torres from Glendale, who interned with the SUNY Potsdam Biology Department in Potsdam, NY
SUNY Potsdam’s internship program places students with employers whose interests align with their studies. Each student intern has a faculty sponsor, and earns between 1 and 12 credits toward their degree requirements.
