SUNY Oswego has awarded merit scholarships to several Queens students who started college in the fall of 2017—including East Elmhurst business administration major Julian Yepes, Rego Park finance major Dimitrije Davidovic Vedda, Richmond Hill accounting major Sophia Naranjo, Rockaway Beach’s Treigh Washington, Queens Village broadcasting and mass communication major Stacey Malone, St. Albans zoology major Dezigner Moore, Rosedale electrical and computer engineering major Gabriel Olufade and Jamaica biochemistry major Mellika Hoppie and broadcasting and mass communication major Jason Tomlinson.
Several Queens students recently completed their undergraduate studies and received their diplomas from SUNY Oswego, including Astoria’s Liam McAleer (who earned a bachelor of science degree in business administration), Bayside’s Kevin Williams (bachelor of arts in broadcasting and mass communication), Far Rockaway’s Marquis Wright (bachelor of arts in information science), Springfield Gardens’ Ebony Staley (bachelor of arts in public relations) and St. Albans’ Amani Beauzile (bachelor of arts in psychology) and Dion Matthews (bachelor of arts in graphic design).
SUNY Oswego has awarded presidential scholarships to several Queens students. The scholarships are $20,000 over the course of four years. Recipients include Astoria meteorology major Sydnei Williams, Glendale biology major Randy Catterson, East Elmhurst cinema and screen studies major Navdeep Gill and Jamaica childhood education major Tamara Dalton. The school has also given dean’s awards scholarships to several Queens students. The scholarships are $6,000 over four years.
Recipients include Corona biology major Christhian Diaz, Woodhaven English major Juliette Schmidt, Flushing biology major Gengle Niu and Jamaica’s Fabiana Netus.
Three Queens students—Astoria’s Hannah Christou, Middle Village’s Kaylee Walls and Forest Hills’ Julia Scapp—are among Loyola University Maryland’s new students this fall. All three students are members of the class of 2021.
