Several Queens students were recently awarded their academic degrees from Boston University—including Astoria’s Travis Vance (who received a master of science in computer information systems), Fresh Meadows’ Sae-Mi Jeon (master of social work) and Jodi-Ann Manning (BA in psychology).
The American-Italian Cancer Foundation’s mobile No-Breast Cancer Screening Program—which provides mammograms and clinical breast exams to uninsured and medically underserved women in the five boroughs—will conduct free screenings in Queens during the upcoming weeks.

Upcoming screening times include Nov. 11 at Cityview Pharmacy (23-07 Astoria Blvd. in Astoria), Nov. 12 at The Shin Kwang Church of NY (33-55 Bell Blvd. in Bayside), Nov. 16 at Queens Library at Corona (39-23 104th St. in Corona), Nov. 18 at New Life Community Health Center (82-10 Queens Blvd. in Elmhurst) and Nov. 19 at Holy Child Jesus Church (111-11 86th Ave. in Richmond Hill). Each event runs from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
