The first residents are finally unpacking their things in their apartments in the 27-story Alexander building in Rego Park.
The 312-unit building at 61-55 Junction Blvd, over the Rego Park Mall, has seen brisk business, as residents from more expensive parts of the city begin moving in.
“Our initial residents include people moving from surrounding neighborhoods, Long Island City, Manhattan and Brooklyn,” said Geoff Smith, Vice President of Development for Vornado Realty Trust.
Highlights of the new residential experience are such recently-completed amenities as a state-of-the-art fitness center with cardio and strength-training equipment, a game room and social lounge with a kitchen and fireplace, an indoor children’s play room and an elegant lobby with 24-hour Concierge. A complement of outdoor amenities will open shortly, including a landscaped terrace with seating, cabanas and a barbecue area; and a children’s playground. The building is also pet friendly and features bike storage and onsite parking.
Upscale finishes and appointments adorning the open layouts include nine-foot ceiling heights, white oak flooring, Caesarstone quartz countertops and Italian porcelain tile flooring in kitchens and baths, and Whirlpool stainless steel appliances. Net effective monthly rents currently start from $2,105 for studios, $2,480 for one-bedroom residences and $3,160 for two-bedroom homes (net effective rents based on one month free rent for a limited time). Immediate occupancy is available.
