Muss Development has signed a long-term, 23,000-square-foot lease with CyraCom, a language translation and interpretation services company that serves more than 3,000 clients in the healthcare industry.
CyraCom will establish itself on the ground floor at Flushing Plaza, located at 41-61 Kissena Blvd., establishing the company’s first east coast office.
“CyraCom’s new contact center is a great addition to Flushing Plaza, which is centrally located within a neighborhood known for its booming Asian community,” said Jason Muss, principal of Muss Development.
In a phone interview about the sale, Muss said his company had a lot of interest in the available space that was eventually sold to CyraCom and it is the last available space at Flushing Plaza for the time being. He said it is usually highly competitive when space becomes available in an area like Flushing Plaza and this was no different.
Flushing Plaza has retail space on the ground floor as well as on the concourse and second floor. Other tenants in the plaza include Time Warner Cable, the New York State Dept. of Labor and Dunkin’ Donuts.
CyraCom was founded in 1995 and employs more than 1,400 people in its southwest offices. They provide translation for more than 200 languages including Spanish, Mandurin and French. Its main office is located in Tuscon, Ariz., but they have other offices in Phoenix, Houston, Texas and New Mexico. They also have locations in the United Kingdom and Switzerland.
