The Postcard, submitted by Joan Cataldo of South Ozone Park, shows the iconic Richmond Hill Library at Hillside Avenue and Lefferts Boulevard.
The library itself was founded in 1899, but the current building, one of many constructed with funds donated by Andrew Carnegie, was opened in 1905. Part of the library was renovated in the 1990s and the building is to undergo a more intensive renovation in the near future.
