The Rogers family opened Hotel Rogers in 1917 when the Long Island Rail Road stopped at Beach 116th Street. The hotel closed in 1992. However, the bar, believed to be the oldest in the Rockaways, remained in the family until 2015 when it was sold to new owners who vowed to keep it open.
