The community of Jamaica Hills encompasses an area of about 65 blocks. This photograph, which dates from 1925, shows the Clark Estate mansion, which was built in Jamaica Hills and sold in 1925. It was torn down and replaced by Jamaica High School, which opened in 1929 and was designed by William Gompert. Today, the school is a city landmark and can be found at 168th Street and Gothic Drive in Jamaica.
