Madison Theatre has an exciting summer planned for 2016. We have also had a very active campus during the summer months, but this year has many additions that we hope to carry over from year to year. Many of the activities will be on the public lawn as well as in the theatre.
Starting the summer season off will be an Arts Fest Week running July 6 to 9. Each night will bring a different evening of entertainment. Wednesday, July 6 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., we kick off the festival with Dance and Broadway where you will see dancers from NY doing classic pas de deux and variations on the out-door stage. The second half of the concert will be some of your favorite Broadway hits sung live on stage. Audience members may even be invited onstage to sing along. July 7th will bring Band Fest with bands playing from 4 p.m. until 10 p.m. July 8th from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. will bring the South Shore Symphony playing a live outdoor concert with a special appearance by A Band Called Honalee. July 9 brings Family Fun Day starting at 4 p.m. This will have activities for the whole family until 8 p.m.
Then, we will finish the evening off with a family movie on the lawn.
Madison Theatre’s next event will be the Long Island Comedy Fest on July 16 at 8 p.m. This will feature Paul Anthony and some of Long Island’s funniest comics.
July 23 is Nassau’s Got Talent competition. Thirty of the top talents on the island with go head-to-head for top prize in years competition.
July 30 brings “Blame It On The Movies”, a salute to the songs from some of the greatest Hollywood movies. This South Shore Theatrical concert will feature Kathryn Crosby along with other NY talent.
Finishing our summer festivals off will be the Super Duper Fun World: The Greatest Family Adventure on Aug. 7 featuring Bouncy houses, Obstacle courses, water slides, amusements for all ages, local food vendors and beverage vendors, kids entertainment and more!
Madison Theatre Molloy College also has great student Arts educational opportunities. Starting as early as June 29, we have intensive training in film, music, theatre, and jazz.
These programs are a great opportunity to learn the tools and skills necessary to move toward a life in the arts.
Come join us at Molloy College and the Madison Theatre this summer!
