With a busy New York City lifestyle not all families may have the time for creating a family style Thanksgiving. If time is against you and succulent Thanksgiving meal is what you desire, here are a few Queens destinations that will be open on the holiday.
Liola, a Sicilian restaurant in Queens, at 15-01 149th St. in Whitestone, “will definitely be open,” said their manager Roberto. Liola is a classy, white tablecloth Italian dining experience that “provides a taste of Italian culture and cuisine.” The evening will feature their usual a la carte menu.
Douglaston Manor, at 63-20 Commonwealth Blvd. in Douglaston will be offering a Thanksgiving buffet from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Adults are $49 and children are $30 plus tax. They will feature a Tuscan style buffet table, a hot buffet table with stuffing, turkey and stuffed shells, a mashed potato bar, a carving station with prime rib and ham, the famous Douglaston Manor Viennese table and a dessert table with cookies, cakes and pastries.
A 24-hour Flushing main stay, Kane’s Diner at 4415 College Pt. Blvd., which serves typical American diner food, will be offering a roast turkey with stuffing and a piece of pie for $20 or a T-Bone steak for $25, “and a smile from me,” said the diner’s manager George.
The Nevada Diner at 80-26 Queens Blvd. in Elmhurst is an American classics style restaurant that will be serving roast turkey, ham, steaks and roast pork as well as their a la carte menu.
The 24-hour Georgia Diner, which has a large menu from archetypal city diner food to Greek cuisine is located at 86-55 Queens Blvd. in Elmhurst and will be serving a special menu featuring a complete turkey, seafood, prime rib or steak dinner with dessert for $28.95 and up.
Marbella Spanish cuisine restaurant at 220-33 Northern Blvd. in Bayside will be serving a three course turkey dinner with all the trimmings for $30.95.
