The two Level 3 sex offenders who were listed on the Division of Criminal Justice Services’ database as residing at the controversial Pan Am Shelter in Elmhurst, are no longer residing at the facility, the Queens Tribune has learned.
A search in the registry for the Pan Am Shelter’s ZIP code revealed that although there were several registered sex offenders around the Elmhurst area, none were listed as residing at the 200-bed, 600-resident family shelter.
The first Level 3 sex offender that was reported last month to have been residing at the shelter, 47 year-old Dwayne Clark, is now listed as residing in Brooklyn. The second Level 3 sex offender, 47 year-old Rodney Moultrie, is now listed as residing in the Bronx.
The two men were discovered as being listed living in the shelter, a former hotel.
State Sen. Toby Stavisky (D-Flushing), who pushed DHS to remove the two men from Pan Am Shelter, said she was glad that they had been removed.
“I hope that they [Clark and Moultrie] enjoy their new surroundings and stay out of trouble,” Stavisky told the Queens Tribune. “They did not belong at a family shelter.”
