The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of an individual who assaulted a 14-year-old boy outside a yeshiva in Queens.
On May 16, the student was assaulted and called a “Jew boy” while walking outside a yeshiva in Kew Gardens. The city Police Department’s Hate Crimes Task Force is investigating the incident as a potential bias crime.
“This alleged anti-Semitic assault targeting a young person is disgraceful,” said Evan R. Bernstein, the ADL New York’s regional director. “We call on all New Yorkers to condemn this hatred. We must do all we can to prevent such events from becoming normalized.”
Anyone with information about the attack should call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers hotline at (800) 577-TIPS.
