Since its founding in 1963, the Queensborough Performing Arts Center (QPAC) has produced more than 1,200 performances and served more than one million patrons. Nestled within the center is an intimate 875-seat theater that showcases world-class entertainment. QPAC strives to mirror the multi-cultural nature and diversity of the borough.
The genres of performance features at QPAC include theater, popular music, dance and opera. The Queens Symphony Orchestra and Oratorio Society of Queens give regular performances in the venue. Tony Orlando and Clint Holmes are just a few of the prominent entertainers who are slated to perform at QPAC in the coming months.
QPAC is a product of Queensborough Community College, which opened in 1959 as a campus of the State University of New York, and enrolls 15,000 students. The center is a learning laboratory for students and provides them with cultural and artistic opportunities in its effort to integrate the arts into the learning process.
