A crime drama based on the books of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle was seen filming in Queens this week.
The CBS TV show, “Elementary,” filmed scenes at Hillside Avenue and 38th Avenue in Douglaston this past Monday.
The show, which stars Lucy Liu, Jonny Lee Miller, an England-born actor best known for his leading roles in movies such as “Mansfield Park” and “Endgame,” and Aidan Quinn, who has been in movies such as “Desperately Seeking Susan” and “Legends of the Fall.”
The series presents itself as an updated version of the classic book character, Sherlock Holmes. Miller plays the lead role as Holmes himself while Liu plays Dr. Joan Watson, who was a successful surgeon until a patient that was in her care passed away. In this version, Holmes has moved to New York City and assists the
NYPD in solving cases.
This is not the first time “Elementary” has filmed in Queens, having filmed in Forest Hills last year.
Other TV shows filming in Queens this past week include “Nurse Jackie” filming at Kaufman Astoria Studios and “The Mysteries of Laura” filming at Silvercup Studios in Long Island City.
