Students at PS/IS 119 in Glendale were evacuated for approximately 20 minutes this morning after the administration saw a social media post that threatened safety at the school, according to a letter emailed by the principal.
The NYPD confirmed that a student made a bomb threat “via Google.”
Jeanne Fagan, the principal of PS/IS 119 wrote in the letter, “After consultation with NYPD, our building was evacuated. All students and staff were moved to the perimeter of the school building.”
She added that after the NYPD investigated the building, police let students and faculty back inside after approximately 20 minutes.
In a phone conversation with the Queens Tribune, Fagan said that she could not confirm anything and would have the city’s Department of Education handle requests for information.
