The NYPD said that it has finally caught the alleged bicycling pervert, who exposed himself to children in western Queens for the past six months.
Christopher A. Carrero was arrested by police on Nov. 9 after nine months of alleged lewd behavior that involved him pedaling around Queens and exposing himself to children on streets and playgrounds. Carrero, 23, who lives at 724 Knickerbocker Ave. in Bushwick, was charged with six counts of acting in a manner injurious to a child and six counts of public lewdness. No information has been released about how Carrrero was captured.
The defendant allegedly targeted young girls, ranging in age from 12 to 15 years, during times before or after school in the Maspeth and Ridgewood area. He would gain the attention of the girls, typically asking for a piece of paper, and then allegedly expose his genitals and make his escape on bicycle.
Carrero’s first alleged incident was on May 11 at 7:24 a.m. in front of 51-45 48th St. in Maspeth. He allegedly approached a 13-year-old girl, asked her for paper andthen exposed his penis and fled on his bike down 48th Street.
Less than 40 minutes later at the corner of Fairview Avenue and Stanhope street, he allegedly again asked a 14-year-old girl for a piece of paper and exposed his penis. He then fled by bicycle down Stanhope Street.
His two most recent alleged incidents occurred on Nov. 2. The first took place at 7:40 a.m. at 1920 Madison St. in Ridgewood, where he allegedly exposed himself to an 11-year-old girl and, five minutes later, he exposed himself to 12 and 13-year-old girls in front of 65-25 Forest Ave. in Ridgewood.
