Grammy-award winning composer, producer, arranger and guitarist Nile Rodgers will be at the Forrest Hills Stadium on Saturday, Oct. 8 to host a unique convergence of musical talent. Freak Out Let’s Dance Fold Experience NY is an all-start concert event featuring a full cast of musical legends alongside cutting edge contemporary artists.
For one night only, trailblazers like Bette Midler, Earth, Wind & Fire, The Village People and Chic Featuring Nile Rodgers share the stage with up-and-coming performers like DJ Cassidy, EMIN, Alex Newell and DJ Nicky Siano of Studio 54.
The event will be a meeting of musical generations, between those who laid the foundations of hip-hop and those who are building on them today. The more contemporary musicians and DJs underscore Nile Rodgers’ natural eye for groundbreaking talent. During his more than 40 years of experience composing, performing and producing, Rogers has constantly traversed new musical terrain while successfully expanding the boundaries of popular music.
As the co-founder of CHIC, Rodgers pioneered a musical language that sparked the advent of hip-hop with “Good Times,” distinguished CHIC as the “most sampled band in history” according to the Guardian and generated groundbreaking pop hits like “Le Freak,” which was inducted into the 2015 Grammy Hall of Fame.
Standard tickets range from $88.50-$108.50. For $299, VIP ticket holders are entitled to front three-row seating, access to the Backstage Rose Garden VIP Lounge and a meet and greet with Nile Rodgers and other artists.
