A pedestrian was killed while running across Yellowstone Boulevard in Forest Hills shortly after midnight on Sunday, police said.
At approximately 12:27 a.m. on Sunday, police officers and emergency responders were called to 73-12 Yellowstone Blvd. near Queens Boulevard and discovered Arkadiy Dibin, 29, of Rego Park, unconscious lying face down on the street and bleeding heavily from his mouth and head.
Emergency responders took Dibin to North Shore Forest Hills Hospital in critical condition and then transferred him to North Shore Manhasset Hospital in Nassau County, where he was pronounced dead.
An NYPD investigation revealed that Dibin was trying to run across Yellowstone Boulevard mid-block when he was hit by a 2005 Buick LaCrosse heading north. The 66-year-old driver of the Buick stayed behind and was administered a breathalyzer, according to officers at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing by the NYPD’s Collision Investigation Squad.
