Treasure Trove

In every neighborhood there is a story. From this penguin in Jackson Heights, to the trolley tracks that still line the streets of East Elmhurst, to the temples that bring incredible architecture to all points of the borough, evidence is all around of the hidden treasures of Queens.

These rare finds are great conversation starters: Did you hear about the soldiers’ memorial in Sunnyside? Did you know what they’re doing with the World’s Fair map of New York? My aunt nearly killed herself on the exposed cobblestone in Jamaica.

It’s all in here, and there’s so much more. We hope you have had as good a time reading it as we have putting it together. Let us know which ones we missed. This borough is filled with treasure – you just need the right kind of map.
