City Winery is celebrating its inaugural year hosting the City Winery Open at Forest Hills Stadium on Sept. 17 and 18, a unique event bringing together an impressive lineup of musicians, culinary artists and fine vintners from around the world.
Featured musical performances include Aretha Franklin, Sheryl Crow, Gillian Welch, Jakob Dylan, the Wallflowers and many more. While these legendary musicians share the stage, more than 40 of New York’s top chefs and restaurateurs hold a performance all their own.
Daniel Boulud, Drew Nieporent, David Waltuck, Marcus Samuelsson and Joey Campanaro will be serving up a wide variety of cuisine as diverse as the musical lineup. Food & Wine Magazine is an official sponsor of the City Winery Open, where more than 75 top wineries from around the globe will be represented.
“Over the past eight years at City Winery, we have been blessed to cultivate relationships with starts in the worlds of music, food and wine that converge to create such a unique experience at our five locations around the country,” said City Winery Founder and CEO Michael Dorf. “The open is our opportunity to express this vision at a much larger scale.”
Founded by Dorf in 2008, City Winery is a high-end culinary and cultural experience with locations in New York, Chicago, Nashville, Atlanta and coming soon to Boston.
Food and drinks can be purchased using your wristband (the festival is a cash-free event) and are sold through a “taste” currency: Wines will be poured for one, two or three tastes, a pint of craft beer will set you back two and dishes can be purchased for one taste each.
Basic tickets start at $75 per day or $140 for a two-day pass with early access to purchase “tastes.” Silver ticket packages will cost $100 per day or $190 for both days and include two “tastes.” Gold Ticket packages will cost $150 per day or $280 for both days, and include floor seating plus ten “tastes.” For the ultimate experience, Platinum Ticket packages cost $275 per day or $500 for a two-day pass. Platinum ticket holders enjoy premium floor seats bundled with twenty “tastes.”
