Astoria Bank recently promoted Kara Manners of Rego Park to Vice President in Astoria Bank’s banking division and branch manager of its Glendale branch. Previously Manners was assistant manager of Astoria Bank’s Penn Plaza branch in Manhattan.
Joshua Rosen of Bayside got an inside look at the presidential election process during a five-day trip to New Hampshire that culminated Feb. 9 with the first-in-the-nation primary.
Rosen is majoring in Biology at SUNY Oneonta. The trip is part of a semester-long course, POLS 216: Presidential Election Campaigns, taught by Associate Professor of Political Science Gina Keel. While in New Hampshire, Rosen attended candidate rallies, town hall meetings and other events, witnessing firsthand the campaigning and media frenzy in the last days before the primary.
Nazareth College is proud to announce that Aija Jones of Arverne has been named to the Dean’s List for the Fall 2015 semester. Jones is studying Biomedical Sciences.
A student’s grade point average must be at least 3.5 or above, and they must complete 12 credit hours of graded work that semester in order to be included on the Dean’s List at Nazareth.
Samuel Martinez has been appointed to serve on the Bob Jones University delegation to the South Carolina Student Legislature for the 2015-2016 academic year.
Martinez, a resident of College Point, is a junior majoring in History at BJU.
