The University of Albany has selected a number of Queens students to act as Living-Learning Community World representatives, which serve on an advisory board to Student Engagement throughout the academic year, communicate feedback from their peers and help plan and facilitate social activities. A number of Queens students recently graduated from SUNY Delhi, including South Richmond Hill’s Ashanti Roberts (who earned an associate’s degree in liberal arts and sciences: general studies), Astoria’s Zachary Morofka (bachelor’s degree in nursing magna cum laude), Jamaica’s Arienna Daniel (bachelor’s degree in hospitality management), St. Albans’ Sharif Johnson (associate’s degree in criminal justice studies) and Springfield Gardens’ Victor Watson (associate’s degree in carpentry and building trades).
College Point’s Arlene Diaz graduated from Samford University during the school’s recent commencement. Diaz earned a M.S. in nursing from the university’s Ida Moffett School of Nursing.
Flushing’s Sgt. First Class Cesar Ramirez has retired from the New York Army National Guard following 22 years of service. Ramirez was assigned to the Operations Company, 42nd Infantry Division.
Muhlenberg College has added three Queens students—Glen Oaks’ Deanna Mayo and Little Neck’s Melissa Heineman—to its dean’s list for the fall semester. To make the list, students must obtain a 3.5 grade point average.
