The 14th annual Forest Hills Festival will take place from noon to 6 p.m. June 8, rain or shine, on Austin Street, between 69th Road and 72nd Road. The free event will showcase 150 vendors and stores, along with kid’s rides, food and live music.

BEING A GOOD CITIZEN: State Sen. Joseph P. Addabbo, Jr. took some time to visit with the Boy Scouts of America, Troop 177 at a recent meeting. Addabbo spoke to the boys, ages 11 and 12, about his experience as a lawyer, elected official and member of their community.

Christina Rukki of Forest Hills received a degree in estudios hispanicos, cum laude, during spring 2014 commencement ceremonies at St. Lawrence University in Canton.

U.S. Air National Guard Airman 1st Class Timothy A. Chan graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.
Chan is the son of Gaitree and Sharma Chan of South Ozone Park.
