Wezi Bota of Whitestone began her freshman year at St. Lawrence University. She attended Waterford Kamhlaba United World College. The Class of 2019 with approximately 680 students is one of the largest and most diverse in St. Lawrence’s 159-year history.
SUNY New Paltz welcomed more than 1,800 students to campus for the 2015-16 academic year. Among the newest members of the New Paltz campus community are:

Staff Sergeant Mingyong Yen from College Point has reenlisted to continue service with the 37th Finance Detachment.
Kevin Li of Fresh Meadows made the Dean’s List at Rochester Institute of Technology for the Summer 2015 term.
Degree-seeking undergraduate students are eligible for Dean’s List if their term GPA is greater than or equal to 3.400; they do not have any grades of “Incomplete”, “D” or “F”; and they have registered for, and completed, at least 12 credit hours.
Christina Joseph of Bellerose started her first year at Hofstra University by winning an essay contest and having lunch with Suzan-Lori Parks, the Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright of Topdog/Underdog at the beginning of the fall semester.
Since 2011, first-year students at Hofstra University have been invited to take part in a “Common Reading”assignment. This year’s selection was Parks’ Topdog/Underdog, and students participated in discussions about the work while they were on campus for summer orientation. They were also encouraged to participate in an essay contest about the play.
