Bellerose’s Sophie Robinson, a communications major, has been named to the president’s list at Clemson University for the spring 2017 semester.
Harrison Sopp has been named to the dean’s list at Paul Smith’s College for the spring 2017 semester. To make the list, students must earn a 3.3 grade point average. Sopp was also named an Adirondack Scholar for having achieved a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.8.
Several Queens students received their degrees during Lehigh University’s commencement ceremony on May 22—including College Point’s Katerina Traut (bachelor of arts degree with majors in political science and Africana studies), Flushing’s Daniel Chi (bachelor of science in business and economics degree with a major in finance), Forest Hills’ Olga Voronetskaya (bachelor of science in integrated business/engineering), Sunnyside’s Nicholas Mietkowski (bachelor of science in mechanical engineering), Astoria’s Alejandra Silguero (bachelor of science in business and economics and business information systems), Elmhurst’s Roxanne Chu (bachelor of science in integrated business/engineering), and Jamaica’s Kester Gibbons (bachelor of arts degree with a major in biology).
Students from Queens have been added to the dean’s list at the University of the Sciences for the spring 2017 semester—including Fresh Meadows’ Raymond Li (a doctor of pharmacy student), Whitestone’s Nardin Farid (a doctor of pharmacy student), Flushing’s Elizabeth Ha (a doctor of pharmacy student), Kew Gardens’ Solomon Normatov (a doctor of physical therapy student) and St. Albans’ Kymonne Duncan (a doctor of physical therapy student).
The University of Rhode Island has named several Queens students to its dean’s list for the spring 2017 semester, including Bayside’s Yvonnie Phan; Flushing’s Catherine Nolty; Whitestone’s Athena Kalogeras, Christine Kim and Denna Vecchio; Woodhaven’s Daniela Doneva; Forest Hills’ Alexa Stewart and Roxanne Krawczyk; Astoria’s Lauren Eng; Long Island City’s Elizabeth Piotrowski; and St. Albans’ Kelly MacDonnell.
Morrisville State College has added several Queens students to its dean’s list for the spring 2017 semester, including Fresh Meadows’ Collin McMurtry; Woodside’s Brendan Boles; Astoria’s Sherley Oliviery-Baker; Breezy Point’s Megan Rose Kirk; Cambria Heights’ Jahmila Scott; Queens Village’s Jalen McCray; Jamaica’s Tadiwanashe Mashumba and Brianna Cadet; and St. Albans’ Cordell Callier. Morrisville State College also added Flushing’s Isaiah Johnson to its president’s list for the spring 2017 semester. To make that list, students must achieve a 4.0 average and complete 12 credit hours.
Flushing’s Andrew Christophorou, a graduate of Archbishop Molloy High School, will attend Clarkson University in Potsdam as a member of the class of 2021. Christophorou will major in aeronautical engineering and begins classes in the fall.
