Expand Summer Bus Service

In effort to ease the commute time for daily travelers and reduce traffic congestion during peak summer months, Assemblyman Phil Goldfeder has sent a letter to the Metropolitan Transit Authority to provide additional bus service and more frequent limited-stop connections to the A train at rush hours.

“The Rockaways are already limited when it comes to transportation and during the summer months thousands of commuters from all over the city are coming down to utilize our beaches,” Goldfeder said. “I strongly urge the MTA to help reduce the often long and congested routes to and from our beaches.”

In his letter to the MTA, Goldfeder stated increasing Q52, Q53 and Q22 service would effectively minimize congestion and pollution that is often left behind by commuters idling for lengthy periods of time.
