Movies Under the Stars: Norm of the North
Join NYC Parks and the New York City Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment for a free film! In this animated comedy for the whole family, an oddball polar bear named Norm (voice of Rob Schneider) is outraged when he learns that human beings are planning to build condos in his Arctic home. He and three lemming pals decide to go to New York City to confront the real-estate developer responsible. 8:30 to 10:30 p.m.
North Woods Family Trail Ride

Our monthly cultural celebrations return to Corona Plaza this Summer. Every last Saturday of the month enjoy live music, workout time, art making workshops, dance performances read stories and learn about inspirational causes. All activities are free. This event runs from 1 to 6:30 p.m and is located at the intersection of 103rd Street and Roosevelt Avenue in Corona.

Tai Chi at Socrates Sculpture Park
These classes offer the opportunity to learn the Taoist method, improve one’s health, relax, and exercise in an outdoor setting among changing exhibitions of contemporary sculpture. Free! 11 a.m. to noon.

Story Time & Craft
Bring your little nature lovers to the Queens Botanical Garden for a relaxing afternoon featuring nature-inspired stories, followed by a botanically themed craft activity. This event is free with admission and takes place from 2 to 3:30 p.m. The QBG is located at 43-50 Main St., Flushing.
Exploring the Bay
The Alley Pond Environmental Center leads hands-on science programming in Little Bay Park on weekends in May and June. Grab a seining net and learn about creatures that live in the bay. No parent participation allowed and pre-registration is required. 1 p.m. Free. More info at nyc.gov/parks.
Recording Session for Endangered Languages
We are calling on speakers of endangered languages in Queens and throughout NYC to visit the Queens Museum to participate in a recording session intended to help document endangered languages. A facilitator from the Endangered Language Alliance will operate a recording booth where participants can contribute a story, a conversation or simply memories of a family language to a growing archive documenting NYC’s linguistic diversity. Music of Knight

Queensboro Symphony Orchestra Season Finale Performance
The Queensboro Symphony Orchestra’s season finale will be at 7:30 p.m. at Moakyang Presbyterian Church. They will perform Mahler’s Symphony No.1 “Titan,” Bruch’s “Romance for Viola and Orchestra” and a world premiere of by orchestra member Sharon Cha. Admission is free-will offering. Horticulture Volunteer Day
Held monthly through most of the year, each Horticulture Volunteer Day at the Queens Botanical Garden is an opportunity to work right alongside our seasoned gardeners learning specialty skills. Activities change depending on the time of year and might include anything from pruning roses and weeding flower beds to planting fall bulbs and preparing the garden for winter.
