A Queens Village man who owns one of Bayside’s most well-known donut shops is recovering after being shot in the face near his home on June 5, police said.
Richard Eng, 46—who is the owner of Black Label Donuts, located at 39-34 Bell Blvd.—was in his parked car on 102nd Avenue and 220th Street around 2:25 p.m. when the unknown suspect took Eng’s keys, wallet and cell phone, and then shot Eng in the face before fleeing the scene.
Eng was rushed to North Shore University Hospital in critical condition, but is expected to live, police said.
No arrest has been made and the investigation is ongoing.
