Police said that they responded to a call last Thursday of a car crashing into a home in Lindenwood.
According to police, a 91-year-old man — whose name has not been released — was driving a cherry-red Chevrolet Camaro with his pet chihuahua when the incident occurred.
The driver thought that he had put the car into drive, but it was instead in reverse. The senior citizen hit the gas and reversed into a home at 155-46 77th St., police said
The car caused damage to the staircase and fence in front of the home. Both the elderly driver and his chihuahua escaped the incident unscathed. There were no injuries reported and no investigation into the circumstances of the incident.
