TEEN PUSHED ONTO TRACKS – The NYPD is asking the public’s assistance identifying an individual in connection to an assault that occurred in North Corona.
On Saturday March 5, at 10:39 p.m., at the Roosevelt Avenue and 103 Street subway station, Transit District 20, a 17-year-old female was on the westbound “7” train platform when an unknown male approached her from behind and pushed her onto the track area in front on an oncoming “7” train. The motorman of the train saw the teenager on the train tracks as the train was approaching, and he activated the emergency brake. The victim was able to position herself between the platform and the wheels of the train. She was removed to Elmhurst Hospital via EMS with only minor injuries. The suspect fled from the mezzanine area of the station toward the street area.
The individual being sought is described as a Hispanic man, approximately mid-to-late 20’s, five feet, five inches tall, last seen wearing a black jacket, white t-shirt, gray pants and white sneakers.
