GRAND LARCENY —
Police said that they are searching for an individual wanted in connection with a theft in Astoria on July 22.
Just before 4 p.m., the suspect snatched a chain from the neck of a 16-year-old girl in front of 32-86 Steinway St. before fleeing westbound on 34th Avenue. The suspect is described as a black man between the ages of 30 and 40 who was last seen wearing a green bucket hat, camouflage shirt and shorts and black and orange sneakers.
Police said that they are searching for an individual wanted in connection with a robbery in Astoria on July 31.
Shortly before 5:30 p.m., the suspect entered New York and Company Store, located at 30-37 Steinway St., and removed clothing from the shelves. As he walked toward the exit without paying, an employee attempted to stop the suspect, who produced a knife, threatened the employee and walked out of the store with the items.
The individual is described as a black man between the ages of 30 and 40 years who was last seen wearing a white polo shirt, black jeans and white sneakers. No injuries were sustained as a result of the incident.
