COLLISION INVESTIGATION —
Police are investigating a collision involving a pedestrian being struck in Long Island City on Aug. 27.
Around 10:11 p.m., police responded to a 911 call of a pedestrian being struck by a car at 21st Street and 40th Avenue and observed an unidentified woman, who is believed to be 35 years old, lying on the roadway with severe head trauma.
EMS transported the woman to New York Presbyterian-Cornell Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead on Aug. 29.
The driver remained at the scene. No arrests have been made.
