On Thursday, March 26 at 2:47 p.m., police responded to a 911 call of a male shot at the corner of Fonda Avenue and Mayville Street in St. Albans. Upon arrival, officers discovered a Michael Jonathan, 33, of South Jamaica with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. EMS also responded to the location and transported the victim to Jamaica Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
There are no arrests at this time and the investigation is ongoing.
On Thursday, March 26 at 7:15 a.m., members of the 113th Precinct executed the search warrant for a home at 116-25 Marsden St. in South Jamaica, secured by Officer Jason Figari who was working with information developed from a confidential informant, that guns and drugs were being stored in a three story residential building, Police recovered two loaded Jennings Nine 9mm firearms, one loaded Rohm RG10 .22 caliber revolver, twenty 9mm rounds of ammunition, one 9mm magazine, one bag of cocaine, one scale, one electric taser, a large quantity of glassine envelopes and small clear envelopes, twenty-three codeine pills, seven crack pipes, one marijuana cigarette, one fraudulent credit card, and $25,253 in cash without incident.
During the execution of the search warrant, officers observed what they believed to be cocaine in a Ford Expedition and a Nissan Maxima parked in the driveway of the location. Additional search warrants were then secured for the two vehicles and officers seized 545 grams of crack, 216 grams of cocaine and 2 scales from the Ford. An additional 5 grams of cocaine was recovered from the Nissan. Three suspects were taken into custody: Brian Tindley, 31, who was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of drug paraphernalia; Alicia Davis, 35, charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal possession of a forged instrument and Shanique Casey, 18, charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana.
