ATTEMPTED BURGLARY —
Police said that they are searching for two individuals who attempted to burglarize a Flushing home on April 19 by posing as construction workers.
Around 11:40 a.m., two unknown individuals wearing construction attire rang a doorbell to a residence located on 189th Street between 42nd Avenue and Station Road. When there was no answer at the door, the suspects proceeded to the backyard, where one of them climbed an awning and unsuccessfully attempted to gain entry via a second-floor window.
The individuals then broke a first-floor window, causing a 34-year-old woman sleeping inside the home to scream. The suspects fled the location southbound on 189th Street toward 42nd Avenue, where they fled in a gray Nissan Quest mini-van. No property was reported stolen.
The individuals were described as men with slim builds who were wearing construction-type attire, including reflective jackets—one green and one orange—as well as boots, masks and hard hats.
