Police said that they are searching for a suspect in connection with a fatal shooting that took place in Flushing on May 31.
Just after midnight, police responded to a 911 call regarding a man who had been shot in front of 40-38 162nd St. Upon arrival, police discovered 39-year-old Fernando Gonzalez-Chavez, who lives on 47th Avenue in Bayside, who was unconscious and unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the chest. EMS responded to the location and pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
This week, police released information regarding a suspect who is being sought in the incident. The suspect is described as a man who was last seen wearing blue jeans and a blue hoodie with “American Eagle” on its front.
