CHILD DEATH —
A 3-day-old girl was discovered dead after police responded to an emergency call at a Flushing home on June 16.
Around 6 p.m., police responded to a 911 call regarding an unconscious child inside of an apartment on 136th Street. Upon arrival, officers encountered EMS providing emergency medical care to the unresponsive child, Joyce Liang. EMS transported the infant to NY Presbyterian-Queens, where she was pronounced dead.
The medical examiner will determine the cause of death. The investigation is ongoing.
FATAL COLLISION —
A 32-year-old man was killed in a collision on June 22 on the Cross Island Parkway, police said.
Around 1:19 a.m., police responded to a 911 call of a motor vehicle collision involving a motorcycle on the northbound Cross Island Parkway near exit 36.
Upon arrival, police observed the motorcyclist lying on the roadway with trauma about the body. EMS pronounced the man dead at the scene. An investigation by the NYPD’s Highway Collision Investigation Squad determined that the motorcyclist was operating a 2013 Triumph motorcycle when he failed to properly navigate a turn at the location and fell to the ground. No other vehicles or persons were involved in the accident. The man’s identity has not yet been released by police.
