IDENTITY THEFT PATTERN —
Police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating two individuals who are wanted in connection with an identity theft pattern within the confines of the 109th Precinct.
On Dec. 11, a 22-year-old man discovered around 10 a.m. that unauthorized withdrawals had been made from his bank account. It was later determined that an unidentified woman withdrew approximately $1,300 from the victim’s bank account using counterfeit checks that were deposited at various Chase banks within the 109th Precinct and the cash was immediately withdrawn.
Then, on Dec. 13, another incident occurred around 9:48 a.m. in which a man posed as the victim from the first incident and withdrew $180 from the victim’s bank account at a Chase Bank, located at 118-30 Queens Blvd. in Forest Hills.
The suspect from the first incident is described as a black woman who is believed to be in her 50s or 60s and was last seen wearing a fur cap and black jacket. The suspect in the second incident is described as an Asian man who was last seen wearing a gray baseball cap, gray hooded sweater and dark colored jacket.
