MURDER CONVICTION —
A 22-year-old Brooklyn man has been found guilty of fatally shooting a 21-year-old man outside a Ridgewood billiards hall in March 2015, Queens District Attorney Richard Brown said.
Ricardo Delgado, of Bedford-Stuyvesant, was convicted on April 12 of second degree murder and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon following a three-week jury trial before Queens Supreme Court Justice Gregory L. Lasak. Delgado, who will be sentenced on May 23, could face up to 25 years to life in prison, the DA said.
Eric Santiago had been conversing with two individuals outside Arena Billiards Hall, located at 341 St. Nicholas Ave., around 1 a.m. on March 14, 2015 when Delgado ran up to the group and, without provocation, pulled out a gun, aimed it at Santiago and fired twice. The victim was shot once in the torso and transported to a Queens hospital, where he later died.
