A 104th Precinct police officer was struck with a brick during an altercation at a construction site in Maspeth on Tuesday.
According to those at the scene, a stop-work order had been issued at a construction site at 58-19 Maspeth Ave. After the city’s departments of Buildings and Environmental Protection arrived at the scene, police were called regarding a claim of harassment inside the property under construction.
During a dispute, an officer was struck with a brick. The officer retaliated with mace and a second officer was sprayed accidentally during the incident. Both officers were taken to Wyckoff Hospital in stable condition.
Edward Wysk, 51, of Brooklyn, was arrested at the scene and charged with three counts of assault, three counts of resisting arrest and three counts obstructing governmental administration. The second man was arrested, but not charged.
According to WABC NY, the officer received a CAT scan and stiches.
